ADVANCED HOUSING BENEFIT

This course will be co-taught with Chris Smith from HB Help. For those who already have a good understanding of the HB scheme but want to feel more confident about stating what the law says when negotiating with the local authority. Learn how to find and read HB regulations and how to understand and interpret them.

This course will consider:

* structure of Housing Benefit law
* how to find, read and understand HB regulations
* how to set out your interpretation of the rules for reviews and appeals
* we will be working mainly with Regulation 7- this covers notice period rules, overlap, absence, when treated as occupying
* the course is designed to be applied to all HB rules
